HUD Proposes Time Limits and Work Requirements for Rental Aid

The US Department of Housing and Urban Development has proposed a new rule that would allow housing agencies and landlords to impose time limits and work requirements on recipients of rental aid. The goal of the rule is to encourage self-sufficiency among those receiving assistance. However, critics argue that most individuals who are able to work already do, but their wages are often too low to make ends meet.
